Snow in Suffolk!
We have been anxiously awaiting our first snow here at Mulberry Cottage – desperate to see the beautiful countryside transformed. It arrived last night – slow and steady – and, by this morning, we had six inches.
This was the hens’ first encounter with snow and they weren’t impressed, choosing to stay inside their coop but Molly enjoyed it – running about and pushing her nose into it like a little snow plough!
But it’s very hard to concentrate on the new book which is set on a summery Greek island when it’s like Narnia here. Perhaps I should be writing a few chapters of my Christmas novella instead!
It seems I’m the only one hating snow. I’ve always done it. I don’t know why. It has always made me feel uncomfortable and anxious, but after these days’ experience (http://flyhigh-by-learnonline.blogspot.com/2012/02/snow-brought-us-back-in-time-and-we.html) I’ll hate it even more. Enjoy your lovely cottage and the beautiful snowy landscape.
Ah, it’s beautiful Victoria! We didn’t get a single snow flake here!! We had slush, ice and lots of really thick fog! It looks so picturesque around Mulberry Cottage. The birds around here were really confused this morning. I took a video of them and it sounds like there were thousands all chirping away! xx
Poor Maria! Sorry that the snow has made everything so difficult for you. I have to admit to loving its beauty when it’s all freshly fallen but I HATE it when it gets compacted and becomes icy. I’m terrified of ice and I fear the husband will be walking our dog pretty soon!
Trish – We’ve been feeding our birds here and had long-tailed tits on our fat ball this morning! Put some water out too. Poor little things – must be so cold for them.
