Win, win, win!

  • Posted on March 30, 2011 at 11:26 am

If you’d like a chance to win one of three copies of my new book, The Perfect Hero, along with Sue Welfare’s latest book, A Surprise Party, hurry along to Chicklit Reviews

Yesterday, I finally finished the first draft of my new book, Mr Darcy Forever.  This is the third in my Jane Austen addicts trilogy and it feels funny to come to the end of it.  There will be edits, of course, but I feel like it’s the end of an era.

Hens in the house!

  • Posted on March 23, 2011 at 9:19 am

We’ve been enjoying a few balmy days here in London and the hens have been strutting their stuff in the garden.  Well, not just the garden.  They’ve also been bravely exploring the kitchen if I leave the back door open and I was very surprised to find Alice underneath our kitchen table this week!   Hmmm … I’m not sure about hens in the house.  What do you think?

On the writing front, I’m just a few thousand words away from typing ‘The End’ for my new novel, Mr Darcy Forever – this is the third and final book in my Jane Austen trilogy and it will be a very strange feeling to finish it although I am looking forward to launching into my next project which is a closely-guarded secret at the moment…

Download Molly’s Millions!

I’m so excited – you can now download Molly’s Millions to your Kindle!  Molly’s Millions was the first book of mine to be published in the UK and is a romantic comedy about a lottery winner who tries to give it all away before her Scrooge-like family and the media put a stop to her.  You can read more about the book here and see photographs of some of the beautiful settings here.

Happy Hens!

I love having hens!  They are such a delight to watch and it’s been a week of firsts for our ex-battery girls.  The spring sunshine finally decided to come out and play and so did our hens – enjoying their first taste of sunny weather.  Here’s Minnie exploring the garden for the first time:

Later on, Alice and Minnie enjoyed their first proper dust bath – in our vegetable patch!  Dolly Clare also joined in, getting a goodly amount of dirt everywhere!

And here’s Molly wondering what all these new arrivals are doing in her garden!

I love seeing all their personalities coming through.  Shy Dolly Clare, who is at the bottom of the pecking order, is now turning into a real adventurer.  She’s first out into the garden each morning and loves climbing the wall of the herb garden and having a peck around.  Alice is more sedate and has a favourite spot amongst the lemon balm.  Dotty comes out for a bit but then goes straight back in and Minnie is nuts about anything green.  You have to watch your fingers when offering up a piece of dandelion!

Something else that’s fascinating me is the variety of eggs we’re getting.  Just look at these two laid by Alice and Dolly Clare!

The Perfect Hero (the perfect cover!)

  • Posted on March 1, 2011 at 11:43 pm

It’s always an exciting moment when you see a new cover for the first time and I have to say that I’m delighted with the one for The Perfect Hero.  It’s by the same artist who did A Weekend with Mr Darcy and I think the two books will sit very handsomely together!

The Perfect Hero at amazon.co.uk

This is the second book in my Jane Austen addicts trilogy and is set in lovely Lyme Regis in early summer.  I love the freshness of the cover and the pretty beach huts and wait until you see the very cute ginger cat on the spine of the book!  It’s published on 21st April so not long to wait now but the really exciting thing is that you can pre-order a copy of The Perfect Hero on Amazon!
